Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail
First day when I start using Retail Pro, I had a chat with my friend who is working for Microsoft and ask ” Why Microsoft not concern on retail business ? why Microsoft try to come up with business solutions more than selling windows boxes with bugs. I think now he can replay me on this , Microsoft has taken a smart move with dynamics they still moving forward towards solutions where they can make real money. such as Retail business most of the things depend on IT solution , when it comes to automation of process , inventory control , stock management , Service center/shop floor management, e-commerce no one can stay away from complex IT system where as we call ERP system.
History..
Microsoft had many little toys , such as MS retail , LS retail (not 100% ms thing) with Nav integration, but none of this solutions unable to meet enterprise level client requirement.
For Microsoft AX is like american idol where they can show off ” Hey we also can provide solutions ” (finally)
so this is the peak this is the best time for M$ to come up with retail solution and for sure this will be a huge success .
soon I might hear ” Wall – Mart ” chose Microsoft Dynamics AX Retail :p
Microsoft Strategy – Connected Solutions
“‘Connected Experiences for Retail’ is the Microsoft vision to empower retailers to connect people, processes and technologies to deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions and capabilities that resonate with consumers and lead to rich, lasting customer relationships…Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail [is] a powerful end-to-end retail solution that delivers this vision for midsized businesses. The new solution will help retailers gain insight into customer behavior and then use it to optimize the whole chain of operations-from sales to supply and distribution.” -MS website
Smart move ->
MS is the only company who can really call connected solutions where you can simply provide end to end solutions also its more like bread and butter simple and user friendly.
